Ceylon single estate tea, just as its name indicates, comes  from a single tea plantation, also called tea estate. Tea plantations at Sri Lanka were started by British at the end of 19th century, so many of them have English names and history going back to the first British owner and manager.  Typically, the tea factory is located on the tea estate, so the processing of the freshly plucked tea leaves can be started the same day.
